In 1988 Whitney published her first sci-fi novel, "From Mawuvia to Earth."  Prior to that she had published two books of poetry, worked as a reporter for the Contra Costa Times (interviewing stars like Jose Feliciano) and wrote an entertainment column for This Month Magazine entitled "Between Acts."

Since the publication of "From Mawuvia to Earth," Whitney has written two other books associated with it.  The first was a sequel entitled "Mawuvia II: Metamorphosis."  The second was a children's book called "Sunny's Dreams."

In addition to her musical and literary pursuits Whitney embraces the path of a Holistic Practitioner.  She holds a B.S. degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy, a M.S. Degree in Parapsycology and a Doctor of Divinity degree.  She is a certified Reiki Master Teacher, Mahatma Ascension Reiki Master Teacher and a Heart Lights Healing Grand Master.  As such, she has published training manuals for all levels of these holistic healing modalities.
